Sharapova Retires From Pan Pacific

Maria Sharapova retires in her match vs Ana Ivanovic 1-6 1-0 retired in the semi’s of the Pan Pacific.
The first set started with the first two games on serve.  Ana went on to take the next five games for the set.
The second set started with Sharapova winning the first game then pulling out because a hamstring injury.
“It’s disappointing to have to finish this way,” Sharapova said. “I started to feel pain in the second game of the first set. I tried to go on, but you can’t get away with it when you are playing against a top player.”
