Former number one Martina Hingis stranded in the 3rd round of the prestigious Wimbledon tournament yesterday in London. She lost to American Laura Granville in two sets 6-4, 6-2.
Hingis has been struggling all tournament starting in the first round where she survived 2 matchpoints versus British wildcard entry Naomi Cavaday. Lady luck ran out this Friday.
Hingis never eyed fit and admitted that she definitely not a contender this year after her match versus Cavaday. Hingis proved her point when she failed to win against Granville. This is the second time Hingis makes it to the 3rd round at Wimbledon since her return in 2006
