Ana Ivanovic played No.58 Vera Dushevina today in a very nice day out at Flushing Meadows. With any other match, it is expected that there is some sort of nervousness between the two players but it seemed like Ana did not have these sorts of problems.
At the start of the first set, Ana wasted no time by being aggressive and forcing Vera to make mistakes. With that, Ana was able to break Vera to have a 4-0 Lead. Ana took the first set 6-1.
At the second set, Ana did not have as much luck as she did in the first as she was as her serve was not as consistent, but in the end, Ana was able to break and take the second set 6-3.
Final Score 6-1 6-3 for Ana. In this match, Ana hit 28 winners and just 17 unforced errors.
The next match for our Ana now is Venus Williams. The two have met three times before and all three times, Venus has won. It looks grim for our Serbian, but I believe she will win this match!
