Justine Henin has given a title warning in the warm up tournaments before the US Open. Slovanian Andreja Klepac was the victim in the second round of the Rogers Cup in Toronto.
The Belgian top favourite , who hasn’t played a single match since losing to Marion Bartoli at Wimbledon in July, only allowed Klepac to have 4 games total.
Henin was pretty much satisfied with her performance and told the press she really needed the rest after Wimbledon and that it was of great essence to be both physically and mentally fresh. She also said that the first match is never easy and that she needed a few games to get into the match.
Serbian Jelena Jankovic, the number 2 on the seedings list, was done even faster with her opponent Marie-Eve Pelletier. The Canadian really stood no chance against Jankovic and lost in front of her homecrowd 6-0, 6-1.
